Mental health, positive mind, and the common cold/flu

Your outlook and being positive may have a real physiological improvement to your health and immunity.

A study published in Psychosomatic Medicine: November-December 2006 – Volume 68 – Issue 6 – p 809-815, looked at if being positive had an improvement in getting a cold/flu.

192 people were split into two groups – those with a positive emotional style or negative emotional style – and exposed to rhinovirus or influenza (cold an flu).

The study found that the more positive people had less risk of getting a cold or flu, and those whom became sick – had fewer symptoms!

There is no clear reason for why this happens – however I thought it was worth sharing.

Laughter just may be the best medicine after all!
